What Solomon Says About Power

By

£0.75

Power and authority come with responsibility. When power is used selfishly, it leads to oppression, and this means unjust misery for the oppressed. Solomon suggests that envy is at the root of the struggle for power, and that envy and greed can lead to an unbalanced attitude towards work. There are two aspects to working with power in a balanced and acceptable way; cooperation is preferred over competition, and humility in the exercise of power is more likely to produce a worthwhile result.
