Demetrius & Enoch

In this message we have a study in contrasts. We have reached the letters D and E. Well, Demetrius for his part was an enemy of the church, while Enoch was a long-time friend of God.

Demetrius the silversmith had a problem – Christianity was costing him money. He made silver trinkets to sell to the pilgrims who came to the great Temple of Diana at Ephesus. So he did what came naturally, he started a riot.

Enoch on the other hand was rewarded for a short life of total devotion. Against the backdrop of a litany of death, this faithful man lived. From one we learn a sour lesson in worldliness. From the other we get a sweet taste of heaven.
