Job 2:1–10
The Adversary lost round one. Job had blessed his Father; in fact, he had worshiped Him, and Satan couldn’t stand it. And so round two begins in chapter 2. Satan issued a challenge which God accepted, and Job’s physical suffering intensified greatly. We’ll look at four understandable reasons why Job’s wife advised him to “curse God and die.” But Job reproved her, then asked a question that revealed magnificent theology! His absolute trust revealed faith in a God whose game plan is beyond our comprehension. Let’s consider three timeless principles we can glean from Job’s experience thus far.
