The Letter to the Hebrews opens in terms of suitable messengers. Our God is a communicator; it’s part of His nature. He doesn’t stand apart and aloof from Creation. During the course of human history God has chosen to communicate His will to mankind by various means and through a variety of methods. From talkative donkeys to muted prophets; from rainbows to angels; Jahweh has been very creative in getting His message across. His ultimate expression to us came by way of Jesus, God’s perfect communication of Himself. In a way that neither prophets nor angels could, Jesus Christ explains God.
